OK, it's now official. Our march for the 2007-2008 school year is "Big Four" by Karl L. King.

Time to start mesmerizing... er.. I mean memorizing. :)

Big Four...sounds really familiar. I think the year before I came to Tetzlaff (Heidi Chua's year) Tetzlaff played Big Four.

I believe we played it when Aaron Goldstein was a 7th grader. He just graduated, so 2001-2002 year.

Ohh so Tetzlaff played this song before!

I mesmerized [:D] Big Four also! Now to start tuning and etc...
Mr. Mitts, when I get a new sax my notes will tune differently than the sax I have now, right?

Well, it will play and feel differently. Every instrument (even the same make/model) is different; no two instruments are exactly alike. Therefore, you will need to get used to the feel as well as the intonation differences from the instrument you have now.
This is not to say that your new instrument will be worse, just that you may have learned to adjust for the inadequacies of the instrument you have now and that you will need to relearn how to properly play your new one.
Don't let this scare you, you'll do a lot of it naturally in the course of playing.
What will probably help to is to use the mouthpiece/reed combination you've been using.

Hope that helps...

Mr. Mitts
