I read this message CLICK HERE (http://www.tetzlaffband.com/forum/showpost.php?p=589&postcount=13) (and the subsequent replies) and it got me thinking...

We need some sort of library of moves that can be referred to, both visually and nomenclature-wise. I mean, some (maybe a lot?) of the moves have common names, but some are/have to be described to be understood and the new candidates may or may not know what you're talking about.

Maybe we should set up a video, shooting of all of the moves we (collectively) know. Then we can show it from time to time so the new candidates have a visual and aural reference.

Jessica, you're good with video. What we would need is to organize it such that it progresses in a logical order. Say beginning moves - intermediate moves - advanced moves. And further, it might be helpful to classify the moves according to plane and/or type (spin, toss, wrap, etc.).

Anyway, what do you guys think?

Cool that's a great idea! I would provide a camcorder (got a new camera from Taiwan :D) but it records in .mov (quicktime files :(). A pain to convert and edit.

If you need any moves I'll be glad to help :D.

Ohh I see. Converting is a long process, but is it a good camera? :]
Haha.

I'll bring it next Monday how about that? Then you can judge it yourself... :D

Here's a link to the amazon product page...HERE (http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-FX3K-Digital-Optical-Stabilized/dp/B000GHTGE8/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-6133634-3025664?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1175207060&sr=8-1)

I found it great to use, small, great battery life, uses SD card so I can just plug it into my laptop w/o worrying about an card reader accessory. I took 500+ photos when I was in New York about 2 weeks ago for MUN :D.

OK, but as I always say, people don't plan to fail, they fail to plan.
We need a battle plan before we shoot so to speak. :)
A list of things we wanna show and an organized way of presenting them... let's see:

BASICS

attention
glide step
facing movementsCOMMANDS

vocal
whistleBASIC SPINS
prop
etc.PLANES
vertical
horizontal
45 degreesYou get the idea. We need some one or a group to organize all of this so that the video progresses in a logical order.

Any volunteers?
