According to the LA Times the parade which ran for 75 years and featured many So Cals finest bands is over.

Another sad ending to another Southern California parade tradition.

It's not new... the parade in San Diego (Mayfair?) faded out our 8th grade year...it was like their 57th annual one too.

Most bands are leaning toward field shows now.

Field shows look confusing.
How do directors know what the design of the marching pattern is without getting in a helicopter? xD

They draw it out first on paper (really bright people), the designs, if you watch DCI (I have a few vids) are just :eek::eek::eek:!

And they go into like football stadiums (where the stand are super high) or use a really high podium to see.

WOW I got 57th right!!! I was just guessing too haha :D.

Maytime!!! That's what it was called! :rolleyes: Confused with the high school near here hehe.
