You guys are going to be there right?! Can't wait to hear you guys play (hopefully), I think we might be backstage like last year until it's our turn :(.
Anyways, Trost picked some pretty good songs this year (unlike last year). The first will be American Portrait (or another one, I might be confused :D) that is a patriotic piece with narration done by Mr. Green! The second will be 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky, which I say is a great piece to play.
It'll be different this year for Cerritos too, Symphonic and Wind Symphony play American Portrait together. But then Symphonic band just sits there while Wind Symphony plays 1812 .

Band-O-Rama... That reminds me. I have to get my names turned in for the program.
Anyway, We are hoping to play 'Beyond the Seven Hills' which we played for festival (great percussion parts) and Bugler's Holiday (Cornet trio with band).
We're still working on Bugler's Holiday. We'll see what happens. :)
But ya gotta come to our Spring Concert and BBQ on Saturday, May 12th, from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
We've decided to change the spring concert from a night performance to a lunchtime outdoors, picnic kind of event.
Leal and Palms elem bands will be playing combined with Tetzlaff Intermediate band. The Adv. Band and Jazz Band will be playing. Color Guard will be doing their spring dance show and we're going to have a few drum major 'L' pattern exhibitions!
Oh yeah, hot dogs, hamburgers, and other goodies: $3.00/student, $5.00/adult.
It's going to be held in the lunch area at Tetzlaff.
Hope you can make it!

May 12th? Next Saturday? I should be able to come! I'll give you the money the next time I go to Tetzlaff (most likely this Wednesday).
I still remember Bugler's Holiday haha, I think we played that my 8th grade year.
And L-Pattern exhibitions? Who are doing them? And will I have to? LOL :D

Ohboy! Bugler's Holiday is hard xD
Did my sister tell you that she's willing to do the "L" pattern exhibition as a 6th grader, Mr. Mitts? :D

Sounds good.
I still remember Bugler's Holiday haha, I think we played that my 8th grade year. We're playing a harder arrangement than the one you played (we sight read that one and found it too easy). The cornet trio part of the arrangement we're playing now is quite challenging.
And L-Pattern exhibitions? Who are doing them? And will I have to? LOL :DWe'd better discuss that at the meeting on Wednesday. :)

No she didn't, but that's great! Let's see if we can solidify who's doing what at the DM meeting on Wednesday.
